I purchased this car new in 2020, put very few miles on it per year, drove like a normal person, and maintained it as per the manual. Still, in fall of 2025 with only 37,000 miles on the car, the torque converter went bad and needed to be replaced. Torque converter life should be measured in the hundreds of thousands of miles, not the tens of thousands. Nonetheless, Mazda cited the fact the car was out of warranty by a few months, and refused any type of warranty repair or even goodwill assistance towards the cost of the repair. I get 60 months is 60 months, but a torque converter dying at 37,000 is really unacceptable for any decent vehicle. Needless to say I am very disappointed with Mazda and will not be buying one again.
