egnine knocking

MAZDA's are JAP SCRAP.

One week after collecting my car following an intercooler replacement under a Mazda recall, a loud knocking suddenly started in the engine. The car was towed away and a knackered big end bearing was suspected as that is common fault in that engine type. The engine was removed and the big ends were found to be fine. Then scoring and pitting was observed in a cylinder and piston head. This was cleaned up and the engine re-installed. That solved the problem. I think the problem was almost definitely caused by a foreign object entering during the intercooler replacement work.

I phoned the Main Dealer who got angry and said the intercooler cooled oil, not air! Was this stupidity or just an attempt to fob me off. (The intercooler cools compressed air from the turbo). The Dealer denied all liability. So did Mazda. I won't touch another Mazda with a barge poll. JAP SCRAP !!!!!!
