The contact owns a 2011 Mazda 6. the contact stated the main wire harness on the driver's side burned out and the vehicle shook when being driven. The contact was concerned that the burnt wire harness could cause a fire or cause the air bags to deploy on their own. The dealer (bakersfield Mazda, 3201 cattle dr, bakersfield, ca 93313) stated that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

The vehicle's car alarm goes off at random times. Generally it seems to happen only in warmer weather and/or only if the key fob is within a certain distance. So far changing batteries in both the car and the key fob have not changed anything. There appears to be flaw in the door mechanisms that make the car think someone is breaking in due to loss of contact when the car has been locked. This only happens when the car is parked and locked by any method. It does not happen if the vehicle is let unlocked or in cooler temperatures. This issue has been ongoing for the past three years.

The passenger headlight will go out on my 2011 Mazda 6 even though the bulb and fuses are still intact and working properly. It worked when I parked my car and turned them off manually and then did not come back on the next time I started my car and turned the lights on. It is definitely a flaw from Mazda as numerous people have had this same problem. It is not only the 2011 models, search for "Mazda headlight issue" and a variety of the Mazda 6's are having this same issue.
