My 2014 mazda 6 EVAP system pops the p0451 when filling up gas to the first click. It goes away after a while if I take care to not fill up the tank all the way to the top. It is similar to a issue reported by recall 7414D for other 2014 mazda 6s. My car is not covered by the open recall, but it is experiencing similar issues. The p0451 goes on and off depending on how much i fill up the gastank.

The contact owns a 2014 Mazda 6. while standing outside of the vehicle, the contact detected an abnormal fuel odor. The odor was not present inside the vehicle. The contact also stated that the fuel economy was diminished. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact was referred to NHTSA by the manufacturer. Additionally, the contact was informed that the vehicle was no longer under warranty and there would be no additional assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

When driving on a street or highway I can still drive with the emergency brake on in the up position, and it doesn't affect my vehicles forward movement what so ever.
