oil leak

Bought a brand new 2016 Mazda 6 touring edition in December 2015 to gift to my wife. The Test drives were great. The design and handling were outstanding. Average mileage is around 25.9 Miles/gallon. Trouble started within two weeks of purchase. Oil started leaking. Called customer care and they asked me to take the car to service center. The service center kept this brand new leaky car for two days and returned with a big smile "Things are all fixed Sir" . "There was a leaky gasket and we replaced it". Came back and next morning my garage floor soaked with engine oil . The car was 3 weeks on road and 900 miles ! Called customer care again. They asked me to go to the service centre. This time the service guy offered me a smelly, dirty Mazda 3 loaner vehicle . The car was with service and they argued that the oil was residual. I insisted that this needs to be investigated. They kept the car for 3 days to call me that there was problem with the rear transmission section of the car and it will require more time. The saga goes on.

My wife is so upset that I insisted we buy the Mazda. Her brand new car has spent more time with service center than with her. Mazda flat out refused to replace the car knowing fully well that there is critical manufacturing defect.

We are stunned by the customer care. They offered us a $100 gift card and asked us to deal with the local state lemon car law if we wan but refused to change the car . They infact refused to accept in the beginning that there is a manufacturing defect.

We are a middleclass family and for us a Car is a big investment. Buying a new car should bring joy and happiness to the family. The amount of time I have spent over customer care calls, trips to the service center, cleaning oil in my garage is overwhelming.

We are done with Mazda. For us quality and reliability will always be over cheap looks.
