MPV 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 124,896 miles

Had my father in law take a look at it and figured that it was the lifters. Called a shop and they said that it would cost $1000 CD. Luckily found another mechanic that fixed it for $620. It was a 4hr job and had it back the next day. My dilemma was, do I spend the money fixing an old vehicle? If it was going to cost a grand I was going to just change the oil with 5W20 and drive it till it died. But, I could live with paying $600. I hope I will get another three years out of it.

If you can, find a licensed home mechanic to do the job. Shops will charge anywhere from $90-100. This guy was $40/hr and reliable and honest. Good luck.

More annoying than anything. If you look up that make and model of vehicle you will see that its a very common annoyance in that type of car.
