tapping noise in engine. white smoke from muffler when engine starts in morning. bought car about a month ago- used. car shut down without warning. one mechanic thought car needed new engine, another said sensor were bad. sensors and oil changed - used /40 grade oil with lucas additive for $400. it appears to be using excess oil, and the engine shuts down. - wonder if this means the engine is failing. van drove for approx 1wk then problem started again- low oil level ,plus engine shut down.

wondering what are our options.
