When driving home on a night with freezing rain and sleet, I put on the windshield defroster. The temperature gauge was warm at the time that I switched it on. Within seconds the windshield iced up and all the other windows steamed up. I had zero visibility. I pulled the car over and scraped ice off the windshield and wiped the side windows so I could see. I proceeded to dirve and again within seconds it happened again. I could see what looked like smoke or a mist coming from the defrost vents. This continued to happen all the way home with me continually pulling off the road to clear the windows. I have had this car for three years and never had this problem. I also have never driven it during an ice storm. This was a very dangerous and nerve wracking experience and am hoping to find out what the heck caused this. I have a friend who has a 1998 626 and the exact same thing happened to her on the same night.
