Tribute 2.4L

Vehicle will not crank. The battery is new. All the dash lights up when the key is on, but when you turn the key to start it does nothing. This happens randomly. For the last few days it has started fine. The last time it did not crank I gave up after a couple of hours and had it towed home only to have it start as soon as it came of the wrecker.

I have changed the ignition lock module but still have the problem. It's not the starter because the car starts fine for a while. There are no codes listed. Dealers don't know what it is. It never happens when I take it to them. Obviously I can't trust the thing. It's been a great car until now! I see online that others have had this problem with Ford Escapes (same thing as my Tribute) and the Ford Focus. I've tried all those fixes but still have the no crank problem. Has anyone figured out what this may be?

Update from Sep 4, 2018: I changed the starter even though it worked for days at a time. This has worked. Cranks fine now. It must have been something faulty in the starter or solenoid that was intermittent.
