My windshield cracked when wife washed the car. We hardly drive our 2018 C43AMG as we have other cars and love this one. She pulled it out of garage and sprayed with water and we all heard a crack. Appears the sensor behind the rear view mirror creates a hot spot from reflecting sun and caused the cracked windshield.
Called dealer to take in and didn't get appointment schedule for about 45 days. I didn't think I needed to get there in a hurry since its 2 hours away and its obviously an issue. No marks on windshield at all.
When I called to make sure appointment was ok (I was running late due to traffic in CA) and the service person said no worries, we aren't doing anything for you anyhow. Appears the warranty expired 1 month ago. So I have a 25K Mercedes C43 with a warranty that expired 1 month prior and dealer wouldn't even look at to get MB to consider a defect issue. Wow! What crappy customer service. I have multiple Mercedes and think I'd be better off with another brand from here on out. Haven't fixed yet because I'm still trying to get MB to send someone to look at for a defect. Dealer just wants to fix and run through insurance no deductible. Seems like a scam to do this and hide a defect. Doesn't cost me a dime but out of principle this needs researched somehow.
