The contact owns a 2007 Mercedes Benz C230. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the seat warmer was activated and there was smoke coming from the seat. The contact noticed that the seat had caught fire. The fire extinguished itself. The contact sustained right hip injuries that did not require medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the heating element needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000.
