C300 AMG 4 cyl Twin Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,000 miles

The dealership told me that my engine needs to be replaced at the tune of $18k!!! I have under 50k Mike's on this vehicle and my factory warranty recently expired. This happened without warning. There were no check engine signs or anything else. I stopped at a red light, changed the driving mode, pressed on the gas when the light turned green and all hell broke loose! I never had and previous mechanical issues with the vehicle. I did notice a gas odor inside my car from time to time when I got in it but it always went away. It clearly seems that there is some type of defect or mechanical malfunction. It's insane to have my engine blow under with 50k miles!

Update from Feb 17, 2021: Apparently there’s problems with cylinder 1, in the early production models. That’s exactly where my problem occurred. My model also falls into the early production category as well. MBUSA offered me $2000 as a “good faith gesture” towards the $18k repair or purchase of a new Mercedes. I have a car that I’m making car and insurance payments on every month that is sitting in my driveway, that I can’t drive! I expected a lot more from Mercedes!
