The contact owns a 2017 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that the driver-??s and passenger-??s side front seat belts failed to retract completely upon release. Due to the failure, the seat belts would fall to the floor upon release from the buckle. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V032000 (Seat Belts). The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer and had the recall serviced however, upon return of the vehicle, the failure persisted. The contact was willing to supply the part but not the labor costs, he was informed that the retractor assembly needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the seat belt retractors were not under recall. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair which he declined. Mercedes was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
