Began receiving indicator in April 2010 at 41K miles to add a quart of oil to the engine. This happened repeatedly, yet the dealership. when asked, just said the car was getting older (5 years?). Now it has a shocked cylinder and I have been informed by a mechanic at another shop that this is probably due to low oil that caused the piston ring to scrape the cylinder. Mercedes is only offering to pay half the parts and labor. The engine is obviously defective, especially since I never received a Check Engine light--something this serious should have some type of indicator! I am having an attorney write Mercedes and the dealership's owner to dispute their offer.
