I bought the car because red is my favorite color. Within 6 months the hood was bubbling. When I took it to the first service appointment the technician told me it was most likely from rock chips or bugs. Every service appointment that was what I was told and even when I asked if they had the same issue on other red vehicles, they told me no. I believed and trusted them to be up front with me.
The last service appointment I needed a repair and it cost me double the amount. That's a whole other issue. I finally received a card in the mail with the lawsuit information. When I called the dealership, they told me to bring it in and let them look at it. My husband and I both took off of work to take it in. I get it there and I am told they won't repair it there at the dealership and they didn't know how the recalls would be handled. I was told to watch for another car about the decision. I was totally getting the run around.
I at one point mentioned trading it knowing the value had decreased. They didn't even want to discuss what my car was worth. I had to have a small repair to the body and the shop charged me so much because of the "special RED Mercedes paint"! Driving it is so embarrassing and I feel stuck with it. If I try to trade it off for another car, I will not receive full price on what it's worth because of the defect, yet I am just SICK about how it looks. I absolutely loved it when I purchased it and I still love it but the paint work is disgusting to say the least. Paying what a Mercedes cost there should not be an issue! Please HELP! Because the dealership isn't going to. They kept telling me to wait for a card or letter with what I needed to do. They admitted they aren't equipped to have all the recalls fixed or repainted.
