When I fill up with gas you can smell gas fumes inside and outside the car.
When I first purchased my Mercedes I was so proud. I am disappointed that the owner is not going to do the right thing and take ownership of the defects on this and all other vehicles with problems by Mercedes Benz.

I don't know the exact time when this started but, I know its been since early 2011. After filling up the gas tank, I notice when I walk around to the driver's side of the car I smell gas. It's gotten very bad over time. Once I park the car in the garage the smell is extremely strong. We open the garage door to let it air out. It's amazing to me that all these complaints are out here on the same problem across the country and this has not been a recall.
MB doesn't seem to know what the problem is as several owners have gotten repairs and the problem continues. This is such a dangerous and costly issue to no fault of the owners; which is why I'm adding to the complaints; in case something happens. These fumes could cause explosions, injury and/or death. If you park these vehicles in your garage an explosion could occur killing your family and/or destroying your home. There could be an accident which could also cause an explosion. It just bewilders me that NHTSA is not forcing MB to do something besides all the back an forth and wasting of time. I guess it will take something tragic to happen before something is done. I guess they think if they continue to deny the issue it will go away; which we know it won't. You think they would have learned that by now by all the other statistics.

Repair was made at the local dealer. Tried hard to get the smell out of the car. Shampooed seats mats etc. Shortly after the fix filled the car again same problem arose but not as bad. Dealer said they couldn't do anything else. Suggestion was to never fill the tank again. Since that time that has been the solution never fill more than 3/4 tank. Still get the gas smell occasionally. Fear is of fire but dealer said not to worry.....but the mechanic isn't driving it.

It is very annoying when you buy high end automobiles and continuously have problems. I've been having problems with this car for the past year and the car only have 47k miles. I will never buy another Mercedes Benz. Mercedes do not stand by their products.
