About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
The engine stalled while in motion and driving over 45 mph. This is the 2nd time this has occurred. Both times I was travelling over 45 mph on a large and busy city street and had difficulty steering my car to safety. There are no codes to explain what might be the cause. Replaced the transmission control unit the first time. After removing the key, putting the car in park and waiting for 5-10 minutes, in both occurrences I was able to restart the vehicle and drive to the dealership, which was less than 5 miles from my location.

From the time it was only 1 year old, the climate control system began repeatedly to fail. Some of the repairs done under warranty, but we have now spent over $3,400 on new A/C compressors (twice), the evaporator (also twice) and various and sundry leak detections and recharges. Failures have occurred on start-up as well as at highway speeds. I have read through this model's defect records and found little if any mention of the climate control. Perhaps part of the reason may be that the A/C system isn't included among the choices in the complaints list. Then again, the issue may be unique to my specific vehicle. In any case, I wanted it on record as a recurrent issue. Perhaps the climate control, and its impact on visibility and therefore safety, should be added to the list of options.
