Hello there dear friends ..I have a 2007 E350 Mercedes I bought it in 2010 with 40,000 miles on it. I never had any major issues until I hit 62,000 miles. Every time I start the car, when it runs for few minutes, I smelled burning and when I started driving it it goes away. Only when vehicle sits for hours or few days..that annoying smell went away ..
But when was time for me to do tranny service, same day, car was stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear not shifting, just high RPM's. I did transmission flush and added new fluid at Mercedes service shop . Tech did not mention anything to me. I have asked them a question about annoying smell which he said the car was not driven for a while, that's the reason, which I don't believe that's the case. There is no codes showing at all ..which is worrying me, what could be, please, if you know any solution let me know ..thank you!!

First of all, very annoying experience when your driving and won't shift, high RPM's and won't go over 30mph. You can push it god knows what will happen afterwards. Car should shift with normal driving in very low rpm range.. Happened 6 times daily at least in 10 mile radius. The way I cured it is just to keep moving on is turn engine off and back on not to cause traffic .. Happens only when you completely stop and taking off, it starts acting right away.
Mercedes dealership won't take any actions except to take your money, that's for sure, no coverage from them, right away they start looking at service records etc..My E 350 had at that time 63,000 and change on it. I didn't have any codes on my dash or lights but they pulled code from transmission (Condenser Plate and sensors.).
They did fix it, $1500.00, god knows how long will last..
