I took my car to an authorized MB mechanic for a routine oil change at 79,000 miles. He told me he noticed an oil leak and that he was confident that it was from the oil cooler seal. He also stated that this was a problem with these E350 diesel engines, because he has seen this several times before. He also stated that the MB dealership would act as if it was not an inherent problem and refuse to repair under warranty.
I took it to the dealership. They told me they had never seen this problem before (lie) and it would cost me over $1,600 to repair. I refused and complained to MB corporate customer service. They eventually promised me a 10 percent discount. Really?
After 3 months the leak has gotten worse. I have to add a quart of oil every week. Mercedes-Benze should be ashamed of them selves. Obviously, this is a big problem!
