Turned the seat warmer on earlier this week while driving and within minutes a cloud of smoke filled the car. In a very short amount of time , there was a strong burning smell and thick smoke throughout the car. I felt intense heat in my back and realized the source was the seat itself. Unfortunately, I was wearing a heavy coat and didn't feel the intense heat until it burned a hole through the seat itself and my jacket. Called the dealership next morning and they said there is no recall and that they could not offer a goodwill repair . So your car has a major default and poses a fire and safety hazard and Mercedes is doing nothing about it. I am thankful my kids were not in the car and I was driving locally. Can't imagine if we were on the highway and this happened.
