The contact owns a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC300W. The contact stated while driving at 65 mph the vehicle went through a sudden acceleration and then slowed down to about 65 mph. The contact stated no warning lights were illuminated. The contact got off the highway and proceeded to her destination. The contact said she smelled the odor of gasoline while the vehicle was parked. The contact was driving in a parking lot at approximately 5 mph when she lost power to her brakes and the vehicle had another occurrence of sudden acceleration. The vehicle jumped the curb and began to climb up an incline while the contact was attempting to brake. The contact hit a hedge with the vehicle sustaining some front-end scratches. The contact said she suffered some neck pain from the accident but did not seek medical attention. The police were contacted and a report was filed. The vehicle was towed back to the contact's home. The contact called the local dealer where it was towed, the dealer did not diagnose the vehicle. The contact said she also was smelling gasoline from her vehicle at the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
