The car randomly shows an empty tank of gas at the start of the day, when there was a half tank of gas remaining. I filled the gas, but the car did not register any fuel-up and kept showing empty. I took it to the dealer for repair and the fuel tank sensor was replaced under warranty a month ago. Now, this week the same issue reappeared. The car began showing no gas in the tank on a random morning last week and remained driveable for a couple of days. The gas levels reappeared corrected on day #3. Today, 4 days later, the car went back to showing zero gas, and shut off while I was driving on an expressway with my minor child in the car. All of the lights on the dash lit up, and the car stopped. It is immovable. It could have caused a severe or fatal accident and this is totally unacceptable!! This is the third time this issue appears on a brand new car that I-??ve had less than a year, with 15k miles.

Attempting to get recall completed but manufacturer and dealer are non-responsive. Mercedes stated that if a failure occurs life and limb are at risk (slightly paraphrased). Mercedes says in the recall notice that the repair will take 1-6 hours. Scheduled for a Friday and the Service Advisor sent confirmation and at least one appointment confirmation. At the shop by 8am. Service Advisor immediately tells me that the repair will take two days. It is a Friday. Means they will keep the vehicle through Monday. Thought a Service Advisor whose jobs are service and advising would perhaps called and maybe suggest rescheduling for other than a Friday so we would not be short a vehicle for four days. Or maybe, as the Sales guy promised us, have a loaner for times we would be without a vehicle for extended periods. Another Service Advisor, overhearing the conversation, intervened. Seems Service Advisor Number 1 might have been incorrect, suggesting that he had limited knowledge of the vehicle he was advising about. Service Advisor Number 2 said that the issue with this model could be completed faster. So Service Advisor 1 talks to the technician in the shop and comes back and says it probably can be done in a day. Probably. Not within the 1-6 hours stated in the Mercedes recall notice. I declined. Had already been burned with same vehicle unnecessarily kept overnight before, and this was a Friday so risk was losing the vehicle for four days. Asked that he call me to reschedule when loaner was available. He agreed. He reviewed phone numbers and said he would call by end of day. No call. I contacted Mercedes and was promised dealer was diligently working to get this done and would contact me). Five weeks have passed and no call. Not sure if intentional or incompetence but unacceptable.

Vehicle loses power, my vehicle stop on the highway going 55 miles per hour, I came very close to being rear ended. My vehicle consumes excessive fuel, the vehicle quicks back upon acceleration. This causes a great concern as I used my vehicle for work. I attempted to have the dealer resolve this and I was told that there was nothing they could do. However, this faulty performance might cause a traffic accident and I could also involve the life of myself or another individual in the vicinity of my vehicle. The vehicle also has a late start which is also a problem while driving. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle as I fear for my life and the life of others.
