Last night, my daughter and I were leaving a play and as I was leaving, the car surged in reverse and no matter how hard I pressed on the brakes I could not stop. My foot was on the brake and I even lifted briefly to ensure it was in the right place. This caused me to hit a vehicle behind me with two passengers who were not seriously injured which resulted in a an unoccupied heavy duty church van being being hit in front of the jeep and then another unoccupied vehicle stuck by the van. In total 4 vehicles damaged. I felt like a demon had posessed my car and there was nothing I could do. I would like to add that when it was all said and done, the concrete indicates the right rear tire was still spinning.

I would like to add this happened several weeks ago but at the time didd not realize what had actually happened. My daughter and I were preparing to back out of a parking space and as I started to back out of the parking space, the car surged in reverse but I was able to stop it. I actually thought it was my fault and I had done something wrong. It was very unnerving but I honestly would have never stopped to think this could happen so I blamed myself.

I have owned this vehicle for several years and it has been a great running around vehicle with the exception of the right rear lock not working and all of the locks jumping up and down presently needing repaired. The vehicle was towed to the repair shop last night and needless to say, I will NEVER drive this vehicle again and risk endagering my child's life nor anyone else's. After what I have read, I am guessing there will be nothing found wrong with my Mercedes ML 320 and of course, it was all my fault. So, in good conscience, I can't sell the car to anyone else and I don't know what to do with it. I can't afford anything else either without selling it. My daughter and I are still very shaken.

Does anyone else have similar stories?
