For no good reason, a 3 year old previously replaced battery was completely flat. So, no power to open the central locking or access into the car. Attended by Roadside assistance at 9pm, who jump-started it but it couldn't go to a dealer at that time. Towed to a dealer two days later. Again, $750 for what must be a gold-plated Mercedes battery, $200 for labour to remove the seat and replace the battery, no explanation for the failure. Apparently, Mercedes accepts that their $750 batteries, not carried by roadside assistance, will fail after three years. Bollocks - not good enough from any manufacturer, but completely unacceptable from a luxury manufacturer priding itself on its brand name.
