This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Mercedes-Benz dealer.
It's a small leak but will only get worse. This car should not be having as many problems as it does!

Intercooler failure. Noticed oil dripping. Very expensive repair.

The engine in my 2012 Mercedes ML350 Bluetec is a 3.0L 6 Cyl DIESEL Turbocharged engine. I began noticing oil pooling under my car in June of 2021. It was determined by a Mercedes Licensed dealer that the issue was likely the oil cooler (which appearly is very difficult to get to, and so even though the cooler and its casket was reletively inexpensive they have to dismantle most of the top of the engine to get to to it.
In April 2025, the same oil cooler issue arose again. Both of these repairs was in excess of $4000, mostly labor. The work was done again by a Mercedes Licensed service center.
I love the car when it's running properly. It has been extremely expensive to maintain, more than $20,000 over the last 4 years.
For example, the cost of the latest oil cooler was $4138, then the regular maintenance brought the price tag to $2682. I rarely get out of the service center without paying $2000 or more. I'm retired, the car is paid for (multiple times because of its maintenance) and because of the prices of new cars, the depreciation of this car, it seems like I'm stuck with the high cost of maintenance.
