The check engine light comes on constantly. The dealership states it is a fuel problem with the winter diesel and altitude. The dealership runs the codes, resets the light, gives you a bottle of Cetane and says everything is fine. Got a half block from the dealership and it came on again, another time just 79 miles and many other times that I cannot remember mileage. Same old story from the dealership. Reset and a bottle of Cetane. This has happened many times.
Twice I have drive to Aristocrat Motors in Merriam, Kansas and both times they put in a new injector and it ran fine. Talked with the dealership here (Mercedes-Benz of Colorado Springs) and gave me the same old run around. This time they say Mercedes is aware of it and it is a software problem. I have the latest updates and it still does what it does. The dealership here also states that Mercedes will not warrant fixing the problem as there are a number of issues on the front range with the diesels but not elsewhere.
Difficult for me to understand but I do know I will never buy another one or recommend one to anyone. Does anyone have any solutions to fix the problem other than trading vehicles.
