Had to reseal both upper cam covers because they were leaking. Replace engine control unit, 4 cam solenoids and 4 cam hall sensors, engine wiring harness. Replace transfer case input shaft seal leaking. All in all, a real mess.

This is a real Mercedes Benz screw up, I just wonder about there brainless Engineers. They redesigned the gasket from an orange color to purple and is still failing after 60000 KM. In order to get to the oil cooler which is located at the bottom of the middle of the engine "V" design.

It is underneath intake manifolds, EGR equipment, coolant lines and turbocharger. To reassemble, the cooler gasket is about $ 6.00 plus other gaskets a total of $ 100.00. The shop cost is about $ 3000.00 to $ 4000.00 at Mercedes. You would think that is an experienced Motor Company.
