Power steering malfunction caused by computer glitch when we had a bump. SeeNHTSA recall #17V-595 for earlier manufactured Metris.Yes- available for inspection. Yes, loss of power steering endangered us an anything in our path as we attempted to steer the van without powered steering I don-??t know if it can be confirmed by a independent service center, but there is a history of this with other owners and I assumed it can. It has been inspected by a Merecedes service center, see the enclosed repair estimate. No warning, a bell dinged a red service message came on when we hit the bump.
