Cougar

  • Manual transmission

I bought this car from the states a few months ago. My dad drove it from NJ to Thompson Manitoba. The first time I drove it it started 'stuttering', as if I would be constantly stepping on the break like every second or so. I told my dad to drive it to see what I was talking about and it didn't happen to him while he was driving. He just told me I sucked at standard and not to worry about it. After about a week of driving the car it stopped. I thought maybe I just had to learn to drive THIS particular car. I noticed that keeping the RPM at like 3000 helped. So anyways winter came (avg temperature - 40 C here.) and the car worked GREAT. Today it is - 2 C and the car started acting up again very badly. So maybe it's the heat? I don't know. I will try to fix it soon. When this stuttering happens, the RPM sometimes gets stuck too. And this stuttering is very bad, like my head flys forward every time it does it. Putting it in neutral and then putting it into a lower gear SOMETIMES helps correct the problem for a few seconds only. It's a shame because other than this, I love this car. :(
