I HAVE HEATING PROBLEMS WITH MY 1998 GRAND MARQUIS. IT HAS BEEN RUNNING HOT AND BOILING THE WATER OUT. I TESTED AND FOUND IT HAD A SMALL LEAK IN THE DRIVER SIDE HEAD GASKET. I BOUGHT SOME GASKET SEALER AND PUT IT IN ACCORDING TO THE DIRECTIONS AND IT HAS NOT RUN HOT BUT THE HEATER WILL HEAT AT TIMES AND THEN QUIT AND START BACK AGAIN.
ANYONE HAVE A SUGGESTION THAT MIGHT FIX THE PROBLEM I WONDER IF THE HEATER CORE IS STOPPED UP WITH THAT SEALER ? I TOOK THE THERMOSTAT OUT AND THERE WAS SOME OF THE FIBER STUCK IN THE THERMOSTAT. I TOOK THE THERMOSTAT OUT AND PUT A NEW ONE IN. IT RAN GOOD AND HEATED FOR ABOUT ONE WEEK. WE HAD REAL COLD WEATHER. AND NOW IT IS NOT HEATING. THE TEMP GAUGE CAN GET TO NORMAL BUT THE HEATER BLOWS COLD AIR. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED.
