Annoying problem and that we had to pay for a rear window to just get it to be back up. Not right.

My 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis GS has been in my family since it was bought new on the showroom floor in April 2003. It has been "babied" with all significant work being done by Ford/Lincoln-Mercury dealerships and oil changes handled by reliable vendors such as Goodyear service centers. The car has never been abused -- no towing of trailers, no hard driving, no driving above 80 mph, no fender-benders.
The current failure of the driver-side window (just now reported in May 2015) marks the THIRD time that this problem has happened in a car that is 12 years old and today has only 109,000 miles on it. Previous two repair jobs were done by certified Ford Motor Co. technicians -- first time it was the regulator, the second time it was the motor.
For those with the skills and tools at home, here's a link to a great video on how to make these repairs:

Given that the Grand Marquis is regarded as the "Baby Lincoln," the driver-side power window should be performing much better than this.
Worth noting: The window motors in the three other doors failed, too, and had to be replaced. So far, each has been replaced only once.

Front driver side window this time? Dam it. Always costing us money.
