Twice while driving on I-295S on the way to work the car started to accelerate rapidly by itself. Both times I shut off the cruise control and it stopped. About a week later while not using the cruise control I was stopping at a red light and at approximately 10 miles an hour it started to accelerate and I pushed hard on the brake pedal and shifted into neutral to avoid hitting the car in front of me. I shut the car off and restarted it and it was fine. ( Switched cruise control switch to off ) I haven't turned the cruise control switch on at all since the last incident and so far it's been normal. ( 10 months later)
