Bought vehicle new, drove off lot, within a month brakes started squealing really bad when pressed, finally got appointment with dealer, was told by unconcerned personnel that it was normal brake sounds... Maybe they can fool some females or try at least, but this female worked 10 yrs with Dept. of Motor Vehicles so I KNOW this is NOT normal brake squeals.... Took to dealer 3 times, no satisfaction,,, finally, took to another dealer close by and was told that they checked it and all Mercury Mariners brakes sound like this....... SO, I've tried everything I know to get this vehicle fixed..... they need to replace all brakes & shoes...... I also took this vehicle to an independent mechanic who told me after hearing it that that I was correct, it should not sound like that, it needed new brakes & pads..... I absolutely refuse to pay for this out of my pocket..... I am trying to get rid of this monster now and will NEVER NEVER NEVER buy another American made vehicle, especially Ford-Mercury..... BE WARNED
