The passenger-side, liftgate glass hinge on the rear window broke due to corrosion on a bolt. The window is now loose and sagging on that side. We took it to a repair shop today, and the mechanic noticed that the hinge on the driver's side in also very corroded, and said it will likely break soon. (there are white streaks from the corrosion running down the window.) the window would be at risk of falling out. If this happened on the highway, it could present a very real danger to cars following us. I looked online after we returned from the shop, and found comments from hundreds of other Mariner and escape owners that had experienced the same problem. Many said that they had contacted their dealers to see if this problem was covered by a recall. When they discovered that it wasn't, a great number of them either made the repair themselves, or went to an independent mechanic, since the dealers were charging up to $850 to make this repair. So, many of these repairs weren't made by dealers where they could be tracked for a possible recall.

Rear hatch window hinges cracked due to the metal deteriorating causing the window to shift and become loose and subject to falling away from the vehicle. I had the hinges replaced on 1-25-17 prior to any accident that could have resulted. My online research shows Ford has not taken any responsibility for the defective window hinge laches

Rear hatch doesn't seal tightly, resulting in leak when it's raining- then because of leak (I think) the rear defrost doesn't work- and I'm in Michigan! also, the sealcoat on the rims chipped/wore off? this resulted in rims rusting and when I had tires replaced, now the tire won't seal to the rim edge because of pitting. Now I have no rear defrost, a leaking lift gate, and have to replace rims because the sealcoat failure allowed my rims to rust. The lift gate and rear defrost failure happened a couple months after my warranty time expired (my car only has 25K miles on it); and the rim I just found out after replacing all four tires due to 'dry rot' (not worn down) from the car not getting driven all the time.

2010 Ford Mercury Mariner. Need I say more? this vehicle has everything wrong with it!! Ford should recall the entire vehicle and give out cars that work. My vehicle has been through the throttle body recall that left me stalled in the middle of a busy intersection. Thankfully I didn't die. I have two more recalls to get fixed and the most recent fun took place on 01/04/2016 when the rear liftgate shattered when closing. This happened at nighttime in January after temps had fallen to 20 degrees. The vehicle was stationary and parked in the driveway.
