The electronic power steering on these cars is faulty and very dangerous. It has been recalled and the recall did not help, Ford simply resets the computer so that the computer is less sensitive to the problem, this allows the computer to ignore the problem until the car is out of warranty.

Ford has a recall to fix the power steering problem. I did it and now the problem is far worse that it was before. University Ford (Durham NC) will replace the steering column for over $1500. The recall amounted to resetting the computer, but this made the problem worse.
