I bought the Mariner because I needed to put a wheelchair in the trunk. Won't go through window, won't go thru door, now the vehicle is a paper weight. We have two of these vehicles. Both actuators went out within a week of each other. Called around to see what the problem was, why trunk hatch won't open and was universally told this is a common defect with these cars.

Seems like replacement won't help. If these parts are indeed defective, I'm replacing with a defective part. Senior on fixed income. Any suggestions?
