I get it, things wear out. I was out in the snow and couldn't unlock my driver side door. Bought a new handle from the dealer for $76 and replaced it myself in about 20 minutes.

This car is only 4 years old and to have the driver's door handle break so soon is unacceptable. I am not sure how much the repair is going to cost but I am sure it will be over one hundred dollars. The problem is that getting to the door mechanism is a big hassle or I would do the repairs myself. They designed the door so that you cannot remove it easily and therefore must take it to a mechanic or the dealer. I think that the driver's door mechanism should have a sturdier design since this is the door that is used most often. The electrical parts function properly but the mechanical door handle is poorly designed.
