Takata recall notice for a defective airbag on my 2008 Mercury Milan was received on 3/6/17. I have contacted my dealer and they told me Ford would send a letter when the part is available. I have not received a letter that a part is available, only letters about the recall. I have limited where I drive my Milan out of concern that the airbag is still defective. When is Ford going to fix my car?! it has been 20 months since receiving the notice of the recall!!!!!!

"takata recall" recall was issued January 10,2017. I have called their hotline twice, and each time they tell me they do not have a remedy to the problem. I tell them how I have 2 young kids and feel unsafe. They tell me they will make note of this. My husband called the local Ford dealership last week. They told him that they called for the parts, but they aren't available. Told him to call back in a month to try again. When I check my status on the website it reads: Recall statusrecall incomplete, remedy not yet available how is this acceptable!? my recall will be 2 years old in 2 months and nothing has been done about it! they sent out paperwork to rent a car, but I don't have the extra funds to cover the extra insurance Ford said I'd need. They also told me I'd have to pay an extra $6/day, as Ford is only covering $30/day. They told me I could have the rental for up to 3 months. This call was made back in July!!! that would have been 4 whole months of paying for extra insurance and money for a rental, and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight!

Takata inflators. I received a notice about this recall many months ago. I've called my local dealerships to check for a repair and they still (as of today 10/4/18) tell me that they do not have the parts available and are not able to fix. I cannot believe I've been required to drive around with this hazard for so long while Ford has not been able to come up with a solution. This is not acceptable.

Now being told parts will not be available until November 2018. I do not have any faith that they will be available. I have been trying to have this repair since Oct of 2017

Takata recall the recall appears to be ongoing. I plan to move out of state requiring me to drive long distance with a passenger, a pet and my belongings. With the recall on the passenger airbag, I feel uncomfortable going forward with my move. My other option is to sell the car, but that would not be fair to the buyer. Please provide an alternate solution besides a rental car.
