At night, as my son was approaching a 4 way stop on a city street in slick, icy conditions, ABS kicked in and locked up and slid through the stop sign. Since that time, the ABS has not worked. The brakes sill work, but you have depress it nearly all the way. Took it to the mechanic last week, and said hcu valve was sticking and not closing. Noted their was a recall on this for early manufactured model NHTSA #19V904.

My Mercury Milan has 124,000 miles on it and I just experienced the soft brake problem while parking my car in the garage at a slow speed and the pedal went to the floor. Now when I drive the vehicle, the pedal goes almost all the way to the floor to stop now and has not returned to normal. I called Ford direct after contacting my local dealership, and they told me that my car does not fall with in the date range from manufacturing (6 mos) for the Ford issued recall number 19S54. They basically told me this is an owners expense now. Clearly the Bosch hcu parts Ford installs are defective and and they should cover the cost. I just received an estimate of almost a $1000 to replace the hcu and flush the break system. I am at a lost for words in how I feel about this.

When braking to slow down or get to a stop the brake pedal pressed down but the car didn't seem to stop as quick as it should have. A while later, when having to brake quickly, the car hit another vehicle infront of it. The accident took place on a city road. No police report was filed because the other car's bumper had minor damage unlike my car which the front & hood of has substantial damage.the repair estimate for me was about 4K dollars which is higher than I can afford.

The car brakes no longer work, replaced brake pads and calipers and still no brakes. Took it to dealer and they said there is a recall in place and still no fix. It's been almost a year now.

The brake light, ABS light, and electric stabilizer lights came on, which resulted in the loss of full braking. I took the car to my mechanic; he discovered that the ABS pump was leaking. I purchased a used ABS pump, and after installing it, the mechanic had no success resetting the codes. He told me it could be that the part is a used one, so I ordered a new ABS pump from parts maven Ford. After installing the new part, the mechanic had the same issues with it as well. The mechanic is not able to clear or reset all codes for the electric stabilizer, ABS, and brake lights and adequately calibrate the brakes. It left the brake very soft on the pedal, and it required pressing the brake hard to the floor to bring the car to a full stop. What's worst, when moving from the park, the car would roll forward or backward and is not stopping the vehicle as it ought to do. It takes longer to stop, and it requires pressing hard on the brake and longer distance to come to a full stop. Upon further research, the mechanic found out that Ford knew about the problem and had issued a recall for owners who were experiencing the same problem mentioned above to have their vehicles fix for free at a Ford repair shop. I contacted Ford on 10/12/20 only to be told by the Ford repair shop and on an online chat with a Ford rep that my car, while it's one of the vehicles listed in the recall, is not applicable due to my VIN#. it is very troublesome because Ford only limited the recall to some 2010 Mercury Milan hybrid and not to mine. It's a safety issue that they admitted to knowing about and is the only one who can fix it, yet they refuse to include my car. Since I have been without the use of my car for over one month, I have no choice but to take it to a Ford repair shop and get it to fix at my own expense and will follow-up with a lawsuit against Ford to get my money reimbursed.

When the brake pedal is released the car doesn't move forward or backward. The brakes are sticking between stopped and go. This problem also occurs when the car is in motion and there is shaking and a vibration that literally comes out of nowhere. The main question here to be answered; is the ABS valve and the hydraulic control unit working properly? currently the car is not covered under the Ford recall 19S54. The recall for the ABS hydraulic control unit needs to be expanded to cover all Mercury Milan vehicles. The testing and or replacement of the hcu is critical for all Milan owners safety. I was told at my dealership that there is no recall and the ABS light isn't on so there isn't any problem. I am going to see if I can get this problem repaired on my own after dealing with this issue for the past six months.

When you release the brake pedal the car doesn't move as if the brakes are still being pressed. When you gently touch the gas pedal you hear a noise and then the car starts moving forward slowly. The car also does this while driving by applying the brakes occasionally when not necessary.

Ref to complaints # 11173378, 11301848, 11301849. Update: January 2020 recall # 19V904 was issued in December 2019 for the ABS pump issue. I was notified this month (Jan 2020) that Fusion, mke's, zepher's and Milan's for model years 2006 thru to model year 2010, was issued for vehicles manufactured until July 15th 2009. My 2010 Milan was manufactured on 07/24/2009 and is not included in the recall. For most of the last year, I have not let my wife drive this vehicle if there is rain, mist or snow on the roads because of this defective ABS brake system. As you can expect I'm outraged that this could happen.

I have had 6 accident with this car. I have all the info, reports, tickets, repairs and so on. And the file is about 1/2 and all the maintenance on the upkeep. Please contact me at my E-mail [xxx]. I am really looking for some reimbursement on some of the expenses that has incurred during all this. I am on a fixed income and it was a gift from my mom when she passed away. She wanted me to have a safe car and this car has been nothing but unsafe. Please help me get my monies back. I have called after ever accident and no response, after the second accident I would not take on the expressway and do not exceed over 45. My car always took the most damage because it went under the car. No one ever got hurt. I kept my distance and it still happened. The contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2010 Mercury Milan. The contact stated that after shifting the vehicle from park into drive, the brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated that a bi-directional scan tool was needed to bleed the braking system. Additionally, the brake master cylinder and ABS control module were replaced; however, the repairs did not correct the failure. Lakeland Ford (1430 w memorial blvd, lakeland, fl 33815, (863) 682-1100) was contacted, but was uncooperative in getting the vehicle repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.

While my wife was driving the car, brakes felt soft and car wouldn't stop. She was in a residential area at low speeds and was able to coast to a stop. She restarted the car and everything was fine. Ford says it's due to a faulty ABS module which seems to be a known issue, but no safety recall. Issue also affected traction control system and prevented hybrid from staying in ev mode when accelerating at low speeds. Ford charging over $1,200 to replace ABS module.

The brakes are soft. Sometimes I don't know if im going to be able to stop in time. I replaced the master cylinder and bled the brakes and nothing. I googled it and there has been multiple complaints from people with the same year make and model as myself. Driving on the highway the other day I had to make a sudden stop and I just about crashed into the vehicle in front of me. It's not safe.
