The contact owns a 2010 Mercury Milan. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, he heard a loud thumping noise coming from the front passenger side. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the drive shaft needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 82,000.
