First of all, I am so damn mad that Ford did not simply recall/replace this part at the outset, especially in lieu of the many, many complaints.

I received a card from Ford advising me to take my car into a service center to have them look at the ETB which I did. They uploaded the PCM and things seemed ok. I drove to Austin, TX in September 2016 and had one occurrence during the trip (car wanted to die when I slowed down). Drove all the way back home (over 300 miles with no issues).

Fast forward to end of September:

I am one of the "unlucky few" according to the Ford dealership in my town, whose ETB failed completely. This has actually been ongoing for almost exactly a year but until last Friday (9/30/16), it happened only occasionally.

I drove to work on Friday morning and when stopped at a light, my car died. I restarted several times but as soon as I put it into gear it would die again. Finally, keeping my foot on the accelerator, I lurched forward and made it to my workplace. Hoping that this was once again just another occasional issue I headed home that afternoon and same thing. Car died at a light and kept dying as soon as it was put into gear. As I drove down a residential street to my home, I pushed accelerator and nothing happened. Engine was running but no power. I tried pulsing the pedal and that seemed to keep it going somewhat.

Made appointment with Ford dealership, which is only a few blocks from me, to take in yesterday. Limped it along an access road, blew through an almost red light, and as I slowed to turn into driveway of dealership, it dies again. I coast to the curb in relief that I actually made it. Talked with service person who said, yes, it definitely sounded like ETB. Part ordered and car is ready. Luckily, it falls under warranty still so I'm not out any cash.

I was driving on the highway back in June 2016 at approximately 30 miles and the car just stopped accelerating. This was very frightening and I also had my daughter with me. Thank God, I was able to coast to the shoulder and exit off the highway in neutral and pull into a gas station. I was thinking that it may have been because I only had 13 miles of gas left in my car. I filled my tank up and the car started up and drove off with no problems. Today, I was driving on the street and the same thing happened. I had gas, so I knew that was not the problem. The wrench symbol came on the dashboard. I was able to pull out the way a little on the busy one way. I waited a couple of minutes and the car started back up and I was able to park. I thought it may need oil, so I put oil in it, however that was not the problem. I started it back up and attempted to drive home and the car cut off on the highway!!! This throttle situation is very dangerous and this car should be recalled. I got my car towed home because I was to afraid to get back on the road. Something has to be done. This is very dangerous!!

I was driving by the highway and suddenly the engine stalled. Engine was running but with zero speed to continuing advancing. I only had time to move my car to the side of the road and turned off. After I left the car to rest for a while, I restarted the engine and worked fine. The first time this issue happened was 3 months ago to my wife. Then since one week ago has been happening at least once a day. I Google this issue and found out that is due to the EFT problem. I will take the car to the dealership.

This is just a rant to make me feel better about the Electronic Throttle Body problem associated with the Milan. This is a very dangerous defect that the NHTSA appears to have designated at not a "safety" issue with an extended warranty not a recall.

I guess loosing power at 65 mph on a very busy freeway and having to maneuver through traffic (without power) to the shoulder of the road with countless near misses is not a safety issue! I took it to MIDWAY FORD in Roseville Minnesota and they said they could not get the correct code off the computer so they needed to duplicate the issue. They have now driven my car for over a week and can get it to duplicate.

So now I am stuck either taking the car back (HIGH PROBABILITY THAT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND PUT MY AND MY FAMILIES LIFE IN DANGER) or having them drive it for more as long as it takes to duplicate (THEY EVEN ASKED ME TO PAY FOR THE GAS FOR THE TECHNICIAN TO DRIVE IT HOME!).

This is just great FORD customer care (both the Company and the dealership MIDWAY FORD) and it is just another example of our inept government at work for the general welfare of the people!!!!!

Ford Sucks!!

The throttle body air intake sensor went bad causing the computer to shut off the acceleration. After parking the car for a few hours the computer reset it was able to drive a little bit again. Then after a few stop & go's the same thing happened over and over. After some research online I found Ford had issued a recall on the throttle body part, so I was able to drive it to the dealership the very next day and drop it off. Had it fixed completely free of charge even though it was outside of warranty.

My vehicle I still owe on and is under an extended power train warranty keeps going in limp mode while driving through my community , on the highways or the interstate . This is extremely dangerous especially when I have a daughter and her life is in danger as well as mines an I took it to the dealership and they tell my warranty doesn't cover a throttle body replacement and the cost would be 500.. I will never buy from this company again. I'm so disappointed with ford. Recall recall recall before tragedy strikes again. I would to file a class A law suit against Ford.
