I PURCHASED THE MONTEGO USED AFTER I WAS IN A AWFUL CAR ACCIDENT (NO FAULT OF MY OWN) THAT MESSED UP MY SCIATIC NERVE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. I WAS TOLD THIS CAR WOULD BE RELIABLE AND NO RECALL ISSUES. BOY WAS I LIED TO. THIS YEAR IN MAY ISH MY CAR STARTED LOOSING POWER GOING DOWN HIGH WAY. I HAVE BEEN IN ALMOST HAND FULL OF TIMES DUE TO THIS ISSUE. HAVE HAD THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED THREE TIMES WHICH ISN'T A CHEAP REPAIR. TO COME TO FIND OUT, IT'S NOT THE STARTER BUT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE AND IT'S A KNOW PROBLEM WITH FORD VEHICLES. I CALLED CUSTOMER CARE TODAY AND WAS INFORMED THAT DUE TO MY MILEAGE THAT IT WASN'T COVERED. 186,000 MILES. THAT ONLY 10 YRS WHICH MY CAR IS OR UNDER 150,000 MILES IT WOULD BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE. WITH ALL THE MONEY I HAVE SPENT HAVING THREE ALTERNATOR'S REPLACED THIS IS BS. I FEEL IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS WHY A RECALL WASN'T DONE VS CUSTOMER CARE. THE CUSTOMER CARE TO ME IS A JOKE FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME. I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD THE CAR FOR THREE YEARS. VERY DIS SATISFIED CUSTOMER. I THINK FORD SHOULD REPLACE THIS PART ON MY VEHICLE FOR FREE, DUE TO IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. I HOPE TO HEAR BACK ASAP AS THIS IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION AND I CAN'T AFFORD A NEW CAR OR THE REPAIRS AFTER ALL THE MONEY I HAVE ALREADY PAID OUT AND FOUND OUT IT WASN'T EVEN THOSE PARTS. CUSTOMER CARE GUY AT 800-392-3673 WAS VERY INSENSITIVE TO ME AND WHILE HE HAS ME IN TEARS ON THE PHONE TELLING SORRY NOT FORD PROBLEM. LIKE REALLY. I ALSO EXPLAINED THAT THE CAR CUT OFF 14 TIMES ON A 2 HR DRIVE DURING HEAVY TRAFFIC AND I WAS ALMOST HIT MULTIPLE TIMES.
