With only 61000 miles and at the 60000 mile check up I was informed that the timing guides are disintegrating. I was also informed that the repair would cost over $900. I have searched for any recalls on this problem to no avail. The vehicle has been serviced faithfully at the dealers service center. At 49500 miles the vehicle was taken in to have a normal oil change and I asked to have a 50000 mile check up. I was told that they didn't offer a checkup at that mileage. (probably because if any problems are found at that mileage they would have to repair under warranty!) it appears a little strange that a part that should give over 100000 miles should fail. (I have had many foreign vehicles that provided over 200000 miles without this problem.) please look into this and if there is a recall or if I have any remedy available please contact me at rip_winter@hotmail.com.
