It is irritating noise that should have been resolve before now. It sounds like a bomb ticking in the rear of my SUV especially if there isn't any radio or people talking. My mechanic is stumped at the problem, so I checked online to see if others had this complaint. It is amazing how many people have the same problem. At least it is only with the A/c & not the heat too.

I know that FORD is Fix Or Repair Daily, but what does MERCURY stand for. I can't believe that after over 100 years of making cars Ford/Mercury still can't make a blend door actuator motor that works. It starts out making a slamming nose when switched from cold to hot or vice versa then either goes out completely or slams repeatedly while working. And yes this faulty part is in many models from the Explorer/Mountaineer/Aviator to the Expedition/Navigator. Dealers want $800 for a job that a 6 pack, three hours, and a $68 part will fix.

OMG. I live in the South! It's awfully hot without AC :( and money to fix. Best I can do is cross ventilation... lower half way both the driver's window and the back passenger window and keep smiling.
