Mountaineer

Vehicle started making a loud grinding sound. When checked a wheel bearing had gone out on the rear. A few months later it went out on the front.

Mountaineer AWD V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 76,200 miles

Really annoying problem. Had to get it fixed due to noise while driving and concern with safety if bearing fails on major roadway. Only 76k miles on car. I easily get over 100k miles with other car models.

this is very unusual for wheel bearing to be going this often since I'm working on replacing them a third time

my front wheel bearings went out and I had them replaced. Never should've happened this early. It has been one problem after another since...And again, there are no recalls from Ford. They just don't want to stand behind their vehicles. I won't be buying another.
