Mountaineer 6-cyl

  • 64,500 miles
I am the owner of a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer. It has about 64,000 miles on it, most of them highway miles. I have a leak in my radiator. The dealer says it is a defect in the radiator, and no corrosion is present. It is out of warranty, so I must bear the cost of replacement of the radiator. Cost ~$700. I do not drive off road, so there is no valid reason the radiator should have failed. During an internet search, I discovered this is a common problem with 2006 and 2007 Mercury Mountaineer and Ford Explorer. This issue should be investigated, and Ford held accountable for putting defective parts in their vehicles.

Mountaineer

  • 42,500 miles
I have a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer with 42,000 miles on it and was notified by my dealership that there is a leak in the radiator and it needs to be replaced. My dealership told me this was common problem with Mountaineer but Ford will not stand behind the equipment.
