The guy that owned this car before me had the head gasket go and repaired it. Then he was on vacation a couple of hundred miles from home with the family when it went again. It had a knock when I got it so I replaced the engine with a used one with low mileage. Right around 120,000 mi on the car, the transmission stopped shifting into OD. I was on my way to work. I was on a parkway barely doing 55 M.PH. with the RPM around 5000. The engine started getting a little noisy and within seconds it blew. There was smoke everywhere, the car was shaking, and the back window hazed over with something. Warning lights were coming on and alarms were beeping. I rolled to my exit, hopped up on the grass and it sputtered to a halt. Besides the damage in the pictures, the connecting rod of the obliterated piston tore a top to bottom gash through the oil pan.

I'm so pissed this car stalls anytime it feels like it. I have no clue what level of repairs it'll take. I'm so scared of trying because all the reports on this are saying this problem has resulted in deaths. fu#k ford and any of its partners. I hope they go bankrupt. My vehicle has shut off at freeway speeds - does any person that works for ford care that this has and can still kill ppl...I'm terrified of this vehicle. I wish someone at the dealership would try and drive it to find out whats wrong with it and the car kills them so ford might consider looking into it

On my way to work the car stopped shifting up. I had to keep the RPM around 5000 (bellow red line) to go just over 50 M.P.H on the parkway. Just before my exit, the engine got a little louder. Suddenly everything was shaking. There was smoke everywhere. The back window hazed over with something. All the warning lights and buzzers started coming on.
Right after I rolled onto the grass off the side of the exit it stalled and came to a stop. Thankfully, someone saw this, stopped, and then gave me a ride to work. I came back later with a tow dolly.
When I got it home, every fluid from the car was on the dolly. Since it was up on the dolly, I noticed that a connecting rod had torn a gash in the oil pan top to bottom.
