1995 Mercury Sable has experienced several problems. The engine would idle, run rough, stall, and restart immediately, the A/C had blown warm air, the remote fuel door latch had broken, the engine made a loud squealing sound while being driven, and there was a coolant leak. The headgasket, timing cover, oil pan, broken fuel door spring, and starter circuit wiring assembly have all been replaced. Recall #97V019000

The smell while using the heater or the air conditioner is so horrible it's almost a health hazard to use it. The heater is so hot it dried out our eyes and noses with even a short trip in the car. The air conditioning worked great and felt wonderful but the smell was unbearable. Lincoln Mercury in dearborn, mi could not find anything and said they didn't smell anything either. It smells of urine and an old wet rag combo.

Consumer states the A/C was inoperative. Outside shop found A/C manifold line was leaking and had to be replaced caused by stress from suspended subframe. Outside shop claimed when recall repairs to replace subframe bolts which entailed lifting the engine and / or lowering it put stress on the front bolts, thus shearing off the bolt located on the front end right side. This caused the engine to drop which caused damage to the A/C. dealer claimed that damage was caused by outside shop who repaired A/C seven months prior. There were impact marks indication that the service performed when reapiring the A/C or vehicle was involved in an accident which created the problem.

Since I have purcahsed the car (it was the showcase car) every summer as the weather gets hot the car without any warning will cut off. I took it back to the dealer and on several ocassions (two of which they keep the car for a week) they could not find the problem so, they were unable to help me and the problem continued. I don't know if it"S related to the air condition or this gasket problem that I just became aware of from another car dealer. All I know is theat that it happens when the outside environment is fairly warm. It happens without warning and lucily I am a city driver and have not had an accident or been killed on the highway. I would like to keep the car if it can be repaired. Otherwise I have to get rid of it. All I have been told is that it can"T be fixed unless it can be duplicated at the shop and to come back next time it happens, but the problem with that is once the car stops it may start right up again in 10 mins. Or one hour.nr

Knocking and jump-shifting transmission during acceleration; knocking transmission during cruising after acceleration; roughing/scratching braking when applying brakes, pads/drums/discs are in the excellent condition. Speedmeter needle jumped to 85 mph while driving 55 mph once. Sturcture failure in the trunk, up/right corner had a crack which let rain water leaks in the trunk. My air condition gives mildrew/musky when use. My car was never in accident.
