I noticed that at about 150k, in the summer of 2009 the sides started to peel. In the hot summer of 2010 they fell completely off.

We just moved to Florida . About a month into the summer heat the vinyl started to peal off the side of the doors . Within several weeks all the vinyl had fallen off . It was terrible how the foam just turned into a sticky dust . Had to clean the panels and sand down the rest in order to glue the new fabric back . Several months later it happened again . I have been looking for a used car and most of the Mercury’s and Ford I have seen have this same problem . Why can't Ford fix this problem , after all it's not that hard for a company this big to replace the vinyl with something else .
