Sable 3.0L V6 24v Dohc

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden my engine shut off and my gas pedal was all the way down. I had the car towed and came to find out the throttle cable broke at the metal part that holds it into the gas pedal. Replaced throttle cable and all was fine but it was really inconvenient and strange part to break.
